QUESTIONS FROM JOB SEEKERS

Q:  I'm interested in looking for  a new job but the process seems so daunting, how
can you help?
A:  The process CAN be daunting, but we do this everyday and know how to navigate
through it.  We can help you find opportunities by using our database of over 1,000
companies in the Bay area, with contacts in most of these companies.  We will also
guide you through the entire process from interviewing to resignation.  We have a
number of free articles in the Job Seeker section of this website to help you with each
and every stage of the process.  We take the stress and uncertainty out of your search.

Q:  If you help me find a job, do I have to pay you a fee?
A:  No, you don't owe us anything.  Our compensation comes from the employers.

Q:  Who do you help to find jobs?
A:  We help Regulatory, Clinical, and Quality professionals in the medical device,
biotech, and pharmaceutical industries that are interested in companies in the San
Francisco Bay area.

Q:  I'm concerned about sending my resume to someone I don't really know.  Will
my search be kept confidential?
A:  ABSOLUTELY!  Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our business.  It is our policy to
NEVER send your resume ANYWHERE until we have discussed the job and company
with you first, and have received your permission to submit you to our clients for
consideration.

Q:  What if I decide I'm not interested in the job; will you pressure me to take it
anyway?
A:  Not at all.  This job search is YOUR search.  We do all we can to help, but you call
the shots.  If a job doesn't feel right to you, we will keep our eyes open for a more
suitable opportunity for you.  Our business depends on word-of-mouth referrals.  We
wouldn't get those referrals if we pressured people into jobs they didn't want.

Q:  I'm pretty happy where I am now and not really looking.  Why should I talk to
you?
A:  That's great that you are in a position you really enjoy.  That's the goal of a job
search.  But no job is forever, and no company is immune from layoffs and mergers or
acquisitions, so you might as well know your options.  With all of the companies out
there, you will never know if your dream job comes up if you've closed yourself off to
hearing about it.  Besides, most of the people we have placed were not really looking
when we called them.  We just had the right opportunity for them.
QUESTIONS FROM EMPLOYERS

Q:  We get calls from Recruiters all the time, why should we talk with you?
A:  That's a great question.  What separates us from other Agencies is that we have
worked in the medical industry before becoming recruiters.  We know the environment
and what RA/CA/QA professionals do in their jobs.  This gives us a unique perspective
and depth of knowledge few other agencies can offer.  We also understand that your
days are extremely busy and you want someone that can do the job quickly without
flooding you with poor resumes, or just simply duplicating the same efforts you are
doing and expect a fee..  We have been doing this since 1997 and know how to find,
talk to, and deliver these people for you.

Q:  Do you work on a retained or contingency basis?
A:  We are certainly ready to do a retained search if you like, but a majority of our
business is on a contingency basis.  While some companies like to cast a wider net
and have a couple of recruiters work on their searches, others want a very focused
effort to help fill a key position and will choose a retained search.  We are happy to
work with you either way you choose.  We even offer an "engaged" option that allows
you to put a small amount down to be a priority, but you only have to pay the remainder
if we fill the position.

Q:  What is your fee?
A:  We charge a fee of 25% of the candidate's first year base salary on contingency
searches, and 30% on base and any signing bonus on retained searches.

Q:  How long have you been in business?
A:  We have been around since 1997 and started out recruiting all types of employees
for medical device and pharmaceutical companies nationwide.  We quickly identified
Regulatory, Clinical, and Quality as key areas that were under-served by
knowledgeable recruiters, and the San Francisco Bay area as a hot spot for the
medical device, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries.  We chose to become experts
specifically in these areas.

Q:  We advertise on our website and on job boards, why should we work with you?
A:  We tried advertising on job boards and websites ourselves, and certainly don't
blame you for giving it a shot.  But, as you have probably learned, Regulatory, Clinical,
and Quality professionals don't post their resumes on job boards because of the lack
of confidentiality.  They also are too busy to search all the open jobs on those boards,
or scan the websites of all the companies in the area.  It takes someone to reach out
to them and present your opportunity in a way that gets their attention.  That's what we
do best, and we can deliver qualified candidates to you MUCH faster and more
efficiently than placing ads.  We CAN deliver well qualified candidates to you.

Q:  How do you find candidates?
A:  Finding candidates is not the problem.  Delivering them to you is.  We have our
database of over 4,300 local candidates, and a referral network of happy candidates
we have placed over the years.  We always have a long list of people to contact for any
search we accept.  The difficulty is getting them interested in YOUR opportunity.  That's
where our knowledge of what motivates these candidates, and how to present an
opportunity to them is crucial.

Q:  Do you do reference checks on candidates?
A:  Some of our long-time clients will have us do the reference checks for them.  They
know we will give them ALL comments - good or bad, from a reference.  However,
most newer clients prefer to check references themselves to eliminate any perceived
conflict of interest.  Again, we will do what our client wants.
